Aldis Hodge Hunts Twisted Serial Killer in 'Cross' Trailer

Aldis Hodge as Detective Alex Cross chases a ruthless serial killer in the official trailer for Throughthe Prime Video crime series coming out November 14.

Hodge plays Metro PD's top detective who uses forensic psychology to get inside the minds of killers and their victims to identify and ultimately catch the killers. But the latest teaser finds Cross forced into a deadly game as he pursues a psychotic mastermind who uses a menacing mask, and perhaps more than one killer, to stay one step ahead of Cross.

“I'm not a monster. I don't kill for fun… And when I'm done, the world will know the truth,” a seemingly vengeful man says at one point in the trailer. Cross is puzzled because the serial killer he's hunting seems to change the appearance of his victims and stage their murders as suicide or accidental drug overdoses.

“Whoever killed him had to turn him into something else first,” Cross tells his skeptical colleagues. But that's better in the interrogation room than in his personal life, as Cross is grieving the murder of his wife a year earlier and is too fragile to accept the love he desperately desires.

“You’re not doing very well,” Cross’s partner, played by Isaiah Mustafa, says at one point. But his home life turns bizarre when Cross discovers a family photo of his wife and two children, her face and eyes obscured by pen marks.

“It was in my house,” Cross says in shock as the trailer from Paramount Television Studios, Amazon MGM Studios and Skydance Television turns into a heart-pounding thriller. Through The series is based on characters originally written by acclaimed novelist James Patterson and created by showrunner and writer Ben Watkins.

Before the first season debuts, Through has been renewed for a second season, the first eight episodes of which will be available on Prime Video worldwide. Through the cast also includes Juanita Jennings, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, Caleb Elijah, Melody Hurd, Jennifer Wigmore, Eloise Mumford and Ryan Eggold.

Watkins serves as executive producer on the series alongside Sam Ernst, Jim Dunn, Craig Siebels, James Patterson, Bill Robinson, Patrick Santa, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Bill Bost.
