The continuing, now animated, story of Chris Rock’s life will return to TV in September.
Comedy Central has set the air date for September 25th Everyone still hates Chrisan animated series based on the UPN/CW sitcom Everybody hates ChrisThe cable network also released a preview of the animated Rock family (found at the top of this page).
As with the live-action comedy, which aired from 2005 to 2009, Everyone still hates Chris will see Rock tell stories of his life growing up in Brooklyn. Tichina Arnold and Terry Crews will reprise their roles as Rochelle and Julius, Chris's parents. Tim Johnson Jr. plays young Chris, and Terrence Little Gardenhigh and Ozioma Akagha voice his siblings, Drew and Tonya. Gunnar Sizemore plays Greg, Chris's only friend at school.
CBS Studios (through its animation division, Eye Animation Productions) produces the series with Chris Rock Enterprises and 3 Arts Entertaiment. The studio began development on the show in 2021, and Comedy Central has placed a series order in 2022.
Everyone still hates Chris will join the long race Southern Park AND Digging man!which has been renewed for a second season, as part of Comedy Central’s roster of animated shows. Rock serves as executive producer with showrunner Sanjay Shah (Apple’s Central Park); Ali LeRoi, co-creator of the original series; Michael Rotenberg and Dave Becky of 3 Arts Entertainment; and hris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio and Ben Kalina of animation studio Titmouse.
