Ana De Armas is on tiptoe in the first trailer of Ballerinathe spin-off of the Keanu Reeves film John Wick franchising.
De Armas plays a dancer turned assassin in the film, which is officially called From the world of John Wick: Ballerina. The feature film has already come a long way to make it to the screen. It was originally filmed in 2022 and was scheduled for release in June 2024. But in February, Lionsgate pushed the film's release back a year, to June 6, 2025, to allow for John Wick director Chad Stahelski to help heighten the action. He worked with Ballerina Len Wiseman talks about the new action sequences shot this year.
Wick is a crown jewel for Lionsgate and arguably its most important franchise. It has seen Keanu Reeves star in four films since he introduced the world to the character in 2014. Reeves also appears in a cameo in Ballerinawhich takes place between the events of the third and fourth Wick movie.
The cast also includes Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Byrne, the late Lance Reddick, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus and Ian McShane.
