Josh Gad reveals the “big mistake” he made when it came to voicing Olaf in Frozen.
“If I could do it all over again, I wouldn't have lent that snowman My voice. I would have created a different voice,” the actor shared during a recent interview at Fan Expo Canada. “It’s very weird to be in a supermarket and have a little kid go like this…” while slowly turning his head to the side.
“That was my first big mistake,” Gad added. “But, you know, people tell me I have a really unique voice. People seem to like my voice, so I try to give it to them when I can.”
THE Beauty and the Beast The actor lent his voice to Olaf, the very popular snowman, in the 2013 film Frozen as well as its 2019 sequel. She has also voiced the character in several Disney shorts. Glad is set to join Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel in Frozen 3which will be released in theaters on November 24, 2027, and a fourth installment is in development.
Gad also revealed on Tuesday, during an appearance on Live with Kelly and Markwho learned about the third and fourth Frozen films during the holiday in Greece, after they had been announced at D23.
“All of a sudden, my phone blows up. And people are like, 'Oh my God, I'm so excited for Frozen 3 AND Frozen 4.' And I was like, 'Me too?' I had no idea,” the Wolf like me said the actor. “No one thought to call us and say, 'Oh, by the way, we're making two sequels to your movie.'”
He continued to tease, “But I've heard some things about it since then, and it's going to be incredible. I'm so excited for what they're dreaming up right now. It's pretty incredible.”
