Bryan Cranston, John Goodman, Judy Greer and Sean Astin to Star in Dark Comedy 'Chili Finger' (Exclusive)

Judy Greer, Sean Astin, Bryan Cranston and John Goodman have all signed on to star in the upcoming dark comedy Chili pepper fingerwith newcomers Edd Benda and Stephen Helstad co-directing. Helstad wrote the screenplay and Goodman is an executive producer. Fellow cast members Sarah Herrman and Paul Stanko are currently busy with production which is expected to begin next spring. The film is produced by Beyond The Porch and Gold Tree Studios.

Chili pepper finger tells the story of a recently emptied-of-the-nest mother (Greer) who discovers a human finger in her bowl of fast-food chili. When he blackmails the restaurant for a cash payment, things spiral out of control and his life descends into chaos.

So far, the characters of Astin, Cranston and Goodman are being kept under wraps.

“We couldn't ask for a better cast to bring our quirky dark comedy to the big screen,” said co-directors Benda and Helstad. “We are grateful for the opportunity to share a sensational slice of Midwestern life with audiences around the world,” they added.

Sam Sandweiss (Darkwell Entertainment), Tim Chonacas (Gold Tree Studios) and Jo Henriquez are producing. Chili pepper finger will premiere for worldwide distribution during the American Film Market in Las Vegas with Moonstone Entertainment representing the film internationally and Gersh handling the film domestically.

Greer, whose career has spanned over 200 credits in TV and film, will next be seen in the second season of the Apple TV+ series. The last thing he said to metogether with Jennifer Garner. His other upcoming projects include Lionsgate films Best Christmas show ever AND The long walkthe untitled Jason Keller series on Apple TV+ starring Owen Wilson, and Rob Burnett's standalone series In Memory as Marc Maron's ex-wife. Astin, nominated for an Oscar for his work in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, will make his Broadway debut this holiday season as Sant in Elf The Musical.

Goodman will next be seen in Alejandro G. Iñàrritu's untitled film for Warner Bros and Legendary Entertainment, while breaking Bad star Cranston will soon star Everything will be great alongside Allison Janney. Cranston will also begin production on Barry Levinson Murder alongside Al Pacino, Jessica Chastain and Brendan Fraser, and Mark Pellington Lone wolf alongside Lily Gladstone.
