CAA Names Matthew Schuyler Chief People Officer

CAA has tapped Matthew Schuyler as chief people officer.

Schuyler will oversee the leading sports and entertainment agency's human resources and talent management and development strategies across approximately 20 offices and 3,700 employees worldwide.

She comes to CAA after leading global HR teams at Hilton Worldwide, Capital One, Cisco and PwC.

“Matt's extraordinary experience managing global HR functions at industry-leading companies is a testament to his deep understanding of what makes organizations great, including a motivated, high-performing workforce rooted in a culture that fosters growth and opportunity throughout his career,” CAA President Jim Burtson said of the hire in a statement Thursday.

Burtson added: “His remarkable business acumen, combined with his experience growing teams, leveraging technology and driving operational excellence at widely admired service companies, aligns with the clear mission of CAA to provide world-class service to world-class clients.”

Schuyler joins Hollywood's “Big Three” agency (along with WME and UTA) after a majority stake in CAA was sold in 2023 to Artémis, the investment firm controlled by François-Henri Pinault, the company's CEO Kering fashionista and billionaire scion of a French luxury goods fortune.

He comes to CAA even as the entertainment industry's talent representation business continues to be reshaped following strikes by Hollywood writers and actors.

“CAA’s leadership and vision are unmatched in the industry and are based on a global group of diverse and immensely talented experts collaborating within a culture that encourages creativity, curiosity and longevity,” said Schuyler in his statement.

He earned a bachelor's degree from Penn State University, where he now serves as chair of the board of trustees, and earned an MBA in organizational behavior and human resource management from the University of Michigan.
