'Chucky' canceled after three seasons

Chucky will not return for the fourth season, The Hollywood journalist he learned.

The Syfy and USA Network horror-comedy series based on the terrifying killer doll aired its third season, part two, in May 2024 after the first part premiered in October 2023.

Chucky follows the infamous doll who shows up at a suburban yard sale, throwing an idyllic American town into chaos as a series of horrific murders begin to expose the town's hypocrisies and secrets.

The show starred Zackary Arthur, Bjorgvin Arnarson, Alyvia Alyn Lind, Brad Dourif, Devon Sawa, and Jennifer Tilly. Executive producers included Mancini, Nick Antosca, Alex Hedlund, David Kirschner and Jeff Renfoe.

The Hollywood journalistLeading TV critic Daniel Fienberg wrote in his review after the series' first season premiere in 2021: “The violence is bloody but not gory. I've always found the franchise more entertaining than scary, and that continues here. The series is a little creepy when it shows how humans interact with the doll, but when it's just Chucky stabbing people with sharp objects – his versatility is captured in the various sharp tools that make up the title of the series in the titles of queue every week – I'm more likely to just giggle.
