Donald Trump will appear on Joe Rogan's podcast

Former President Donald Trump looks set to sit down for an interview with podcaster Joe Rogan on Friday in pursuit of male voters.

A first appearance of Trump on The Joe Rogan Experience Politico first reported it. A spokesperson for Spotify, which has a multi-year partnership deal for Rogan's podcast, did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Trump's potential appearance.

The Joe Rogan Experience is one of the most popular podcasts with an audience made up of 81% men, of which over 50% are under 35 (according to a YouGov survey). The new distribution deal for the show allows for multiple podcast platforms, in addition to YouTube, instead of remaining exclusive to Spotify, as it had been since 2020.

Kamala Harris' campaign has also reportedly been in talks with Rogan's production team for the US vice president to appear on the Austin-based podcaster's show, once again to target male voters. This follows Harris taking part in Alex Cooper's popular podcast, Call her dadwhich is aimed at young listeners.

In August, Rogan had Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on his podcast before the third-party candidate dropped out of the race. In 2020, Rogan was also up against Bernie Sanders when the Vermont senator ran in the Democratic primary.

The Joe Rogan Experiencelaunched in 2009, it features lengthy interviews with academics, doctors and other guests including Dave Chappelle, The Rock, Robert Downey Jr., Quentin Tarantino, Miley Cyrus, Snoop Dogg, Jewel, Eddie Izzard, Mike Tyson, Post Malone and Zach Bryan.

While Joe Rogan's podcast has proven popular, it has also sparked controversy and some pushback against Spotify. In early 2022, Rogan was criticized for including COVID-19 vaccine misinformation on his show, as well as his previous use of the N-word.
