AMC Networks has named its first Spanish cast for the third season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixoncurrently filming in Spain.
Eduardo Noriega, Oscar Jaenada and Alexandra Masangkay will be series regulars, joining Candela Saitta and Hugo Arbues in recurring roles. Their casting follows world-weary Georgia zombie apocalypse survivor turned European backpacker Daryl Dixon, played by Norman Reedus, who wanders Spain for the third season of the hit series The Walking Dead spin off.
This is a change from the first and upcoming second seasons of the show, which are set in France. Noriega has had film roles in Thesis, Open Your Eyes, The Wolf, The Devil's Backbone AND Panoramic point.
Jaenada has credits that include Camarón: When Flamenco Became Legend AND Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Masangkay made his film debut with 1898: The Last of the Philippines AND The platform and also appeared in Emperor Code and more recently Valley of Shadows.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is in production in Madrid and other locations in Spain, providing a post-apocalyptic backdrop. In the final season, Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier continue to somehow try to get back home and to the people they love, even as the path back takes them further and further astray, through distant lands with ever-changing and unfamiliar conditions, as they witness the impact of the Walker apocalypse.
The second season for the The Walking Dead The franchise spin-off will debut September 29 in the United States on AMC and AMC+.
The third season will debut in 2025 and is executive produced by Scott M. Gimple, showrunner David Zabel, Reedus, McBride, Greg Nicotero, Brian Bockrath, Angela Kang, Jason Richman, Dan Percival and Steve Squillante. Silvia Aráez and Jesús de la Vega of Ánima Stillking have also come on board as executive producers this season.
