Eminem and Bruce Springsteen ready for Kamala Harris campaign events

With just two weeks left in the 2024 election cycle, Kamala Harris' campaign is enlisting some major musical artists to draw huge crowds to her rallies, having booked both an appearance by rapper Eminem and a performance by legendary rocker Bruce Springsteen.

On Tuesday evening, multi-platinum recording artist Eminem will introduce former President Barack Obama at a Harris campaign event in the rapper's hometown of Detroit. CNN reported it. The rapper, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, is no stranger to lending his celebrity to a Democrat. In 2020, the rapper gave Joe Biden permission to use his hit “Lose Yourself” in a commercial released on the eve of the 2020 election.

Then, on Oct. 24, Springsteen will perform Thursday night at a Harris campaign event in Atlanta. The Boss will also appear on stage with Obama as he joins Harris for the first joint event uniting the former president and the White House hopefuls, as she makes her final push before voters go to the polls on Election Day.

Obama and Springsteen will appear together in Philadelphia for a second time on Oct. 28 at another Harris campaign event. Both were dubbed “When We Vote, We Win” events by the Harris team. Rolling Stone reported that a senior Harris campaign official said more rallies under that name would be held in the final two weeks of the campaign. They will likely take place in the battleground states of Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, North Carolina and Nevada, the official said.

Springsteen endorsed Harris in a video shot at a restaurant in his hometown of Freehold, New Jersey. In the clip, the longtime symbol of the American working class contemplates the enormous political divide in America that has developed over the past decade.

“It doesn't have to be this way,” the songwriting legend said. “[Kamala Harris and Tim Walz] they are committed to a vision of this country that respects and includes everyone, regardless of class, religion, race, political viewpoint, or sexual identity, and they want to grow the economy in a way that benefits everyone, not only a few like Me. Besides, this is the vision of America I have been writing about consistently for 55 years.”

On Saturday, Harris was joined by pop stars Usher and Lizzo at separate rallies in Georgia and Michigan.
