Amid production on the second season of Hulu's hit series Tell me lies and protagonist of romantic comedies Space CadetVintage lover Emma Roberts has found time to curate the most perfect collection of designer handbags, jewelry and accessories for luxury consignment retailer Fashionphile.
The Hollywood Reporter was able to meet the actress and producer during the Los Angeles event celebrating her collaboration with the brand.
The collaboration makes sense because Roberts has been keeping second-hand treasures all his life. He says DAY“I'm a collector, and that goes for objects, curiosities, dolls, fashion, and so part of my work is a question of hunting, I like wanting to find something… wanting to find something is sometimes more fun than finding it.”
But that doesn't mean tracking him down isn't an absolute thrill. “My most coveted [designer item] it's just a classic black Birkin – I'm a simple girl,” she jokes.
“I've always wanted, ever since I was a little girl, a black Hermès Birkin bag. I never thought I'd have one… but now I'm the proud owner of a Fashionphile black Hermès Birkin bag, and I love it, and sometimes we'll be in the car together and I'll look around and think, 'Where have you been before me?' and that makes me love it even more.”
Roberts’ collection for the retailer, aptly titled Emma Roberts’ Fashionphile Favorites, features more than 300 Hermès pieces, including a variety of Birkin and Kelly bags. That’s in addition to her selection of timeless pieces from fashion houses like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Dior and Cartier.

And what about the story behind her prized Hermès bag? “When I picked up my Birkin I was wearing Birkenstocks, and I thought, I think I'm the only person who got their Birkin wearing brown Birkenstocks, also used” (she wore them home from set). “That's me in a nutshell, I guess.”
In addition to this partnership, Tell me lies Season 2 has been top of mind for Roberts, who executive produces the Hulu series through her production company Belletrist TV. “I'm so excited that people are watching it, and I'm so happy for the cast and crew and grateful because it was number one today and I'm really proud of what we've done this season.” Between that and her film Space Cadetreleased on Amazon this summer, Roberts “enjoys the rest of the year” and focuses on “being[ing] a mother.”
