ESPN Launches New 'Where to Watch' Feature Online and in App

Starting Wednesday, ESPN will launch Where to Watch features on its app and online.

The feature allows fans to search for specific events to find out where games are taking place, whether on ESPN platforms or on cable, regional and broadcast sports networks and streaming services. Where to Watch is available on every screen in the ESPN app and on ESPN.com.

“Simplifying sports discovery and where a fan can watch has become increasingly important as sports viewing has become fragmented across networks and platforms,” said Brian Marshall, vice president, Sports Product & Technology, Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology. “ESPN has always been the first stop for sports fans, and as we continue to evolve as the preeminent digital sports platform, we are proud to meet fans’ needs with new features to improve the discoverability of live sports and simplify their journeys to consumption.”

In the Where to Watch feature, users can also view all of the day’s sporting events, along with the network or service where they can be found. It also offers one-click access to ESPN network streams for authenticated pay TV users and ESPN+ subscribers, and links to select partner networks.

The feature is powered by an event database created and maintained by ESPN Stats and Information Group. At launch, the coverage included includes tens of thousands of events across dozens of sports and leagues, including the NFL, NCAA Football, NCAA Men's and Women's Basketball, NBA, WNBA, MLB, NHL, UFC, F1, NASCAR, PGA TOUR, tennis majors, MLS, Premier League, Champions League and other live sporting events broadcast across ESPN platforms.
