Although it's been 10 years since Eva Mendes appeared on the big screen, the door for her possible return to acting remains open.
The actress recently stopped Good morning America to talk about his debut children's book, Desi, Mami and the never-ending worrieswhen asked if she would ever return to Hollywood.
“I don't know. If there are any interesting roles. I left at a point where, 10 years ago, I felt like I had made it, you know, I just worked with Ryan Gosling. He's like the best,” she laughed. “It was such a great moment in my career working with him and what we created together that I was like, this is a good time to Seinfeld and leave. So, who knows?” (Seinfeld It ended abruptly after its ninth season, despite being popular, as co-creator and star Jerry Seinfeld felt it was the right time to end the series).
Mendes has appeared in dozens of other projects, including 2 Fast 2 Furious AND The other boysbefore starring alongside Gosling, her now husband, in the 2012 film The place Beyond the PinesShe later stepped away from acting to focus on raising their two daughters, Esmeralda Amada, 9, and Amada Lee, 7, and other professional commitments.
“It was an obvious decision,” he previously told Today show in March. “I'm so lucky, and I was like, if I could have this time with my kids — and I still work, I just didn't act, because acting takes you on set. It takes you away. It was almost like a nonverbal agreement, like, 'OK, he's [Gosling] go to work and I'll go to work. I'll just go to work here.'”
While the couple has kept their relationship private over the years, they have continued to find subtle ways to show their support for one another, like Mendes' sweet Instagram post following Gosling's breakout performance in “I'm Just Ken” at this year's Oscars.
