While Finneas and Billie Eilish will always be brothers, they ultimately may not always produce music together.
During a recent interview with Guitar.com, Finneas said he let go of the reins a bit when it comes to music production for Eilish and helped her learn to produce on her own. He previously produced the “Birds of a Feather” singer’s first three albums.
“I set up Billie's recording studio for her so she can do home production without me, because she's very good!” said the “Till Forever Falls Apart” artist. “And it's funny, I gave her the bare minimum of things, just for her to learn everything.”
Even though Finneas has now moved to a more professional equipment setup, compared to its early manufacturing days, it knows it's best to start with simple equipment.
“I'm like, 'Listen, I could give you all the stuff I use now, but it took me years to even find a use for it.' And, if I give you this key thing, it will immediately make sense to you,'” he recalled telling Eilish.
The duo has dominated the music charts since Eilish's debut album, When we all fall asleep, where do we go?in 2019. They have since collaborated on 2021 Happier than ever and 2024 Hit me hard and soft. Finneas has also released his own albums, including those from 2019 Blood harmony and 2021 Optimistic.
Their special creative dynamic was also highlighted during the awards, as Finneas, who is only 27 years old, has already collected two Oscars and nine Grammys. And he might have more thanks to Eilish Hit me hard and softwhich was released earlier this year.
