FX Orders Ryan Murphy's 'The Beauty' Series; Starring Evan Peters

FX will host yet another Ryan Murphy series.

The Disney-owned outlet has acquired a drama titled Beauty from Murphy's prolific namesake production company and 20th Television, where Murphy is based. The series, which will star Evan Peters, Ashton Kutcher, Anthony Ramos and Jeremy Pope, is based on a 2016 Image Comics title of the same name. Murphy and Matthew Hodgson (American Sports History, 911) are credited as co-creators.

As usual with Murphy productions, story details are being kept under wraps. The graphic novel on which the series is based, by Jeremy Haun and Jason A. Hurley, is set in a world where a sexually transmitted disease spreads across the globe, largely because it makes people more physically attractive. Two detectives, however, stumble upon a conspiracy surrounding the origins of the disease.

Beauty production will begin in the fall and follows a string of recent series debuts for Murphy: FX's American Sports History: Aaron Hernandez AND GrotesqueNetflix Monsters: The Story of Lyle and Erik Menendez and ABC Doctor Odyssey have all premiered in the last two weeks.

The new series marks another collaboration between Murphy and Peters, on which they worked together American horror story, pose and the first season focused on Jeffrey Dahmer Monster; Peters earned an Emmy nomination for playing Dahmer in the latter. He is repped by CAA, Johnson Shapiro and Slate PR.

Kutcher's recent credits include the Netflix romantic comedy In your place or in minefeature film Vendetta and a place for guests That 90s show. He is repped by CAA, Untitled Entertainment and Sloane Offer.

Ramos is on his way out Twister and has the Marvel series on Disney+ Iron heart expires 2025. He is represented by CAA, Door 24, Laffitte Mangement Group and attorney Erik Hyman.

Pope earned an Emmy nomination for the limited series Murphy's Hollywood on Netflix and also appeared in Pose and the film The Inspection, for which he earned a Golden Globe nomination. He is repped by WME, Door 24, attorney Michael Auerbach and Shelter PR.

Murphy and Hodgson executive produce The Beauty starring Peters, Ramos, Pope, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson, Nissa Diederich and Eric Gitter.
