Gayle King Signs New Deal for 'CBS Mornings' on CBS

Gayle King has signed a new deal to stay CBS Morningsays a source close to the matter The Hollywood Reporter.

Specific terms of the deal were not immediately available. King’s deal was said to come in early 2025. She recently signed a deal in early 2022 to continue as co-host of the morning show.

King has been a fixture on the morning show for more than a decade, having helped launch the show in 2012, and has remained there alongside a rotating roster of co-stars. She initially hosted the program (as CBS This Morning) alongside Charlie Rose and Erica Hill. Hill left after less than a year (Norah O'Donnell succeeded her) and Rose was fired by CBS in 2017 following harassment allegations.

She currently co-hosts the morning show alongside Tony Dokoupil and Nate Burleson.

King has also landed numerous interviews for CBS, including with Jay-Z, Cherelle Griner, Megan thee Stallion, and his infamous 2019 interview with R. Kelly.

The morning program has had a growing ratings streak, delivering its best numbers in the key adults 25-54 demographic ever in a season, dating back to 1991. The show has also put pressure on NBC Today and ABC Good morning Americaand, in the demo, it topped the ABC ratings 17 times last season.

Morning shows remain the flagships of the networks' news divisions, and their schedules serve as their financial backbone, helping to subsidize other programming that isn't as profitable.

CBS is also planning to expand CBS Morningwith DAY Last month, it became known that the network is planning a third hour, which will air in select local markets and also stream on its CBS News 24/7 platform.
