The first dedicated teaser trailer for The Last of Us The second season was released by HBO (below).
The new footage continues the story of apocalypse survivors Joel (Pedro Pascal), Ellie (Bella Ramsey), and Joel's brother Tommy (Gabriel Luna). It also introduces new cast members, including Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen, Danny Ramirez as Manny, and Jeffrey Wright as Isaac. Catherine O'Hara also guest stars this season.
Official Description: “After five years of peace following the events of Season 1, Joel and Ellie's collective past catches up with them, drawing them into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.”
The 2023 debut season of The Last of Us was HBO's most-watched season premiere ever. The new season will debut next year. The season was nominated for eight Emmys, including for the performances of Pascal and Ramsey, and for Outstanding Drama Series.
The release timing coincides with “The Last of Us Day”, September 26, which is the day the cordyceps virus outbreak occurred in the original The Last of Us Naughty Dog video game.
