Hollywood notables anxiously await the results of the 2024 elections

As the 2024 election has yet to be decided, Hollywood notables have taken to social media to share their reactions and anxieties over the expected delays in the results.

Katie Couric, Bette Midler, Yvette Nicole Brown, John Cusack and Krista Vernoff are among the politically active Hollywood stars commenting on the tight race between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, which sees the vice president with 189 electoral votes and the former president with 230 . starting at 9:45pm PT on Tuesday.

As of late Tuesday evening on the West Coast, the race is currently still too early to involve the battleground states of Pennsylvania, Nevada, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Arizona.

The Associated Press has already declared Trump the winner of Georgia, North Carolina, Texas, Missouri, Ohio, Wyoming, Louisiana, South Dakota, North Dakota, Arkansas, South Carolina, Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Alabama, Indiana, Idaho, Kansas, Iowa, Utah, Montana, Missouri and West Virginia.

As for Harris, Harris was declared the winner of New York, Vermont, Maryland, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Delaware, California, Colorado, Washington, Oregon, District of Columbia, Connecticut, Virginia, Hawaii and Illinois.

The Harris campaign sent an email to staff Tuesday evening saying they expect the race to end Wednesday morning. “While we continue to see data come in from Sun Belt states, we have known all along that our clearest path to 270 electoral votes is through the Blue Wall states. And we feel good about what we are seeing,” the email reads in part.

Former President Barack Obama reminded voters that “it took several days to count every ballot in 2020, and it is very likely that we will not know the result tonight.”

Brown wrote on X: “Damn this red mirage. And if we lose the Senate… Ugh!!! And Latino voters lean on Trump when he vows to DEPORT THEM! I simply…”
