Not only the Japanese epic period Shogun made history with 25 Emmy nominations, the most of any series this year, but also broke records for Emmy wins by taking home 18 awards, more than any other show in a single cycle. It also followed Squid Game as the second non-English language show to be recognized in the Outstanding Drama category. The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards aired live on ABC from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 15. The event was hosted by The Schitt Stream stars Eugene and Dan Levy, marking the first time a father-son duo has hosted the ceremony. The Creative Arts ceremonies, where the majority of the Emmy trophies were presented, took place on Saturday, September 7, and Sunday, September 8.
To be eligible for the 2024 Emmys, television programming must have aired between June 1, 2023 and May 31, 2024.
