“Sailing” is an upbeat song that evokes the feeling of sailing on the open sea, perfectly suited to the song and the show. The song's lyrics talk about being a family and getting through difficult times together, something that ties into the show and the group.

“We connected everything to the text itself,” Sota says. The 23-year-old explains that he, Shunto and Ryuhei wrote the lyrics for the song, together with the CEO and producer of their company, SKY-HI. “The BE:FIRST e One piece the bond is very deep,” he adds.

For almost the entire group One piece it has been part of their life since childhood. Manato says he started taking singing lessons with the K-pop group TVXQ's One piece song, which led him to dream of becoming a singer. “It's kind of fate,” says the 23-year-old.

“We've been big fans since childhood,” says Shunto. “We really wanted to do this kind of collaboration together in the future, but we didn't think we could do it so soon after our debut.”

Earlier this year, the group performed in front of US audiences for the first time, opening for K-pop boy group ATEEZ at their stadium shows in Los Angeles. The two boy groups recently collaborated on two songs together. Leo says the highlight of the US trip was his ability to communicate with the local team. He jokes that he managed to learn English slang during the trip, incorporating it into his solo music.

“We made these songs [that they performed in L.A.] not only for a Japanese audience but also a global one,” explains Ryoki. “That's why we had enough confidence to perform in Los Angeles”

The 25-year-old says that the audience during the Los Angeles show had good vibes and that it was a perfect performance for them, which led them to think that they could perform their own show in Los Angeles or elsewhere in the United States.

BE:FIRST is gearing up for a great end to the year and a great start to the next. The group plans to undertake a tour of the dome around Japan. They also hope to expand the scope of their tours in the future. “We really want to do a live tour around the world,” Leo says. “We want to deliver our music to all fans.”
