Jason Bateman and David Harbor become involved in a love triangle.
THE Ozarks AND Stranger things stars will star in an HBO limited series called DTF St. Louis. The seven-episode show comes from creator and showrunner Steven Conrad (WonderPrime Video Patriot). Bateman and Harbor also serve as executive producers.
“We are extremely excited to be working with the brilliant author Steve Conrad, whose singularity of vision is central to all of his work as a storyteller,” said Francesca Orsi, executive vice president of HBO programming and head of HBO drama series and films. “With David Harbor and Jason Bateman at the center of the series, two masterful titans in their own right, we couldn't be more encouraged by the journey ahead and look forward to sharing this special, emotionally provocative piece with the world, in due course ”.
HBO describes DTF St. Louis as a dark comedy “about a love triangle between three adults suffering from middle-aged malaise, which leads to one of them dying”.
The show has been in development for more than two years. It was originally titled My dentist's murder trial and based on a 2017 New Yorker story by James Lasdun. At the time, Harbor and Pedro Pascal were destined to star. Pascal (who also stars in HBO The last of us) has since exited the project, which also evolved into an original story not based on the magazine piece. Lasdun remains an executive producer on the show.
Conrad executive produces the series alongside Bateman and Michael Costigan of Aggregate Films; Port; Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch of Escape Artists and Molly Allen, Bruce Terris, Kristina Wenson of Bravo Axolotl, Lasdun and MGM Television.
Bateman will next be seen in the Netflix film Carry-On, which premieres on December 13, and will star alongside Jude Law in a drama series titled Black Rabbit for the streamer in 2025. Harbor has Marvel's Lightning* and the final season of Stranger things will premiere next year.
Bateman is repped by CAA, Lighthouse Management + Media, Hansen Jasobsen and Shelter PR. Costigan and Aggregate Films also collaborate with CAA and Lighthouse Management + Media.
