Netflix announced Thursday that Joe Manganiello and Lera Abova will join the second season of A piecethe live-action adaptation of the popular manga series produced by the streamer.
Manganiello and Abova will play Mr. 0 and Miss All Sunday, respectively. They will join previously announced new cast members Charithra Chandran, Katey Sagal, Mark Harelik, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Brendan Sean Murray, Callum Kerr, Camrus Johnson, Clive Russell, Daniel Lasker, David Dastmalchian, Jazzara Jaslyn, Julia Rehwald, Rob Colletti, Ty Keogh and Werner Coetser. Returning cast members include Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero, Taz Skylar, Ilia Isorelys Paulino, Jeff Ward and Michael Dorman.
The new cast members were revealed during a live read-through at a Geeked Week event in Atlanta, where Netflix also revealed the return of beloved character Chopper.
Second season of A piece is currently in production in Cape Town, South Africa. Based on the best-selling manga series in Japan by Eiichiro Oda, the show follows Monkey D. Luffy (Godoy), a young adventurer who sets out from his small village on a perilous journey to find a legendary treasure to become the Pirate King. To find the ultimate prize, he must gather the crew he has always wanted before finding a ship to set sail with, exploring every inch of the vast seas, outmaneuvering Marines, and outsmarting dangerous rivals at every turn.
Matt Owens and Joe Tracz serve as co-showrunners, writers and executive producers. Iichiro Oda, Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements via Tomorrow Studios; Tetsu Fujimura, Chris Symes and Steven Maeda also serve as executive producers.
