Kamala Harris has agreed to another presidential debate against Donald Trump.
The vice president announced on her X account (formerly Twitter) that she is ready to take the stage again, this time on CNN.
“I will gladly accept a second presidential debate on October 23,” she wrote“I hope @realDonaldTrump joins me.”
His campaign manager, Jen O'Malley Dillon, released a statement on the debate, noting in part that “the American people deserve another opportunity to see Vice President Kamala Harris and Donald Trump debate before casting their vote. It would be unprecedented in modern history for there to be only one debate in a general election. Debates provide a unique opportunity for voters to see the candidates side by side and take stock of their competing visions for America.”
Like the first presidential debate of 2024, which featured President Joe Biden and Trump, this one will take place at CNN’s Atlanta studios.
The former president previously wrote on Truth Social that “THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE” after ABC's Sept. 10 debate in Philadelphia. However, he told reporters at a campaign stop in California earlier this week that he would consider debating Harris again “if I was in the mood,” according to CNN.
The format of the October debate will follow a similar pattern to previous ones, with a duration of 90 minutes and without a studio audience.
Harris’s running mate, Tim Walz, will debate Trump’s running mate, J.D. Vance, on October 1 from 9:00-10:30 p.m. ET on CBS News.

Vice President Harris is ready for another opportunity to share the stage with Donald Trump, and has accepted CNN’s invitation to a debate on October 23. Donald Trump should have no problem accepting this debate. It’s the same format and setup as the CNN debate he attended and said he won in June, when he praised CNN’s moderators, rules, and ratings.
We look forward to Vice President Harris’s opportunity again in the CNN debate to demonstrate her command of the issue and why it’s time to turn the page on Donald Trump and chart a new path for America.
