Keke Palmer and SZA are ready to have One of those days.
Sony Pictures has announced the title of the R-rated comedy starring the couple, which will hit theaters on January 24, 2025. Lawrence Lamont will direct the TriStar Pictures film from a screenplay by Syreeta Singleton.
A trailer for the project was also released which co-stars Lil Rel Howery, Janelle James, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Maude Apatow, Katt Williams, Joshua Neal, Aziza Scott, Patrick Cage and Amin Joseph.
One of those days centers on best friends and roommates Dreux (Palmer) and Alyssa (SZA), who discover that Alyssa's boyfriend has been squandering their rent money. The friends must fight to avoid eviction in a race against time, while trying to keep their friendship intact.
Producers include Issa Rae and Sara Diya Rastogi for Hoorae, Denise Davis for ColorCreative, Charles D. King for Macro Film Studios, James Lopez and Poppy Hanks. Macro Film Studios is also financing the project which sees Singleton as co-producer. Big Boss' Palmer and Sharon Palmer serve as executive producers.
The film was developed as part of Sony's CoCre lab, a previous collaboration between the studio and ColorCreative to support diverse and rising screenwriters in developing ideas for original feature films.
Palmer previously hosted a 2022 episode of Saturday night live which featured SZA as musical guest.
