Meryl Streep Wrote Note to Ashley Park After Murders at Building

Ashley Park is still processing a letter Meryl Streep left her more than a year later.

Park and Streep Both Appear in Hulu Series Only murders in the buildingthat the Emily in Paris The star spoke during an appearance on Jesse Tyler Ferguson's show Dinner is for me podcast.

“You know how at the end of Broadway shows, when you walk out of a show, you have everybody sign your Playbill?” Park said. “It was a fake Playbill, it was just commercials or whatever. But I thought, 'Oh, that would be fun. Let me do it.' And everybody signed their name and I gave it to Meryl and she signed it and gave it back to me. And it said, 'I see you, Ash.'”

Park continued, “He was like, 'I really see you, I really see you. You're doing this.' So that really made me realize, 'Oh my God, anyone that I interact with who might look up to me like that, what a difference that makes. [make].' Like, it's been a year and I feel like crying.”

Park also called Streep a “lovely” person and spoke enthusiastically about the possibility of singing a duet with the Oscar-winning actress in the series' third season.

“I was like, absolutely, I'll do whatever. I don't really care,” Park said of the initial offer. On the show, actress Kimber Min and Streep's Loretta Durkin sang “Look for the Light,” an original song by Sara Bareilles, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, in the Oliver Putnam (Martin Short) musical Rattle.
