A big screen adaptation of Scott Westerfeld's dystopian science fiction novel Ugly, Emily in Paris Becoming Emily in Rome, Jeremy Saulnier’s latest genre film, the latest installment in Ryan Murphy’s macabre crime anthology series, Carrie Coon, Elizabeth Olsen, and Natasha Lyonne as sisters in a critically acclaimed romantic comedy-drama series starring the charming couple Kristen Bell and Adam Brody, are just some of the highlights among the new films and series coming to Netflix in September.
Successful director Jeremy Saulnier releases his latest feature film, Rebel creston Netflix on September 6. The action film stars rising British actor Aaron Pierre as a man who comes to a small town to rescue his cousin, only to have his money seized by a corrupt local police force led by Chief Sandy Burnne (Don Johnson). He is then forced to use his skills to recover the money and get revenge. Saulnier has built a reputation as an excellent genre director and his credits include the highly praised horror comedy Murder Party (2007), revenge thriller Blue Ruin (2013), horror Green room (2015) and the Netflix action thriller Keep the darkness (2018).
The final installment of Ryan Murphy's crime anthology monsters debuts on Netflix on September 19. Monsters: The Story of Lyle and Erik Menéndez is a new, dramatic retelling of the gruesome murder and subsequent sensational trial that has haunted America since the 1990s. The series stars Cooper Koch and Nicholas Chavez as Erik and Lyle, respectively, while Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny will play the siblings' parents, José and Kitty. The first season of monsters (Dahmer – Monster: The Story of Jeffrey Dahmer) was a huge critical success and earned six Emmy nominations.
Azazel Jacobs' film will arrive on Netflix on September 20, His three daughters. This emotional drama stars Carrie Coon, Elizabeth Olsen and Natasha Lyonne, who play two sisters who reunite in their childhood New York City apartment to care for their father during his final days in home hospice care. His three daughters debuted at the 2023 Toronto Film Festival to widespread critical acclaim and currently holds a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes (from 26 reviews), 80/100 on Metacritic (from 7 reviews), and 3.7 on Letterboxd.
Kristen Bell and Adam Brody to Star in Netflix's New Romantic Comedy Series on September 26 Nobody wants it. The new show stars Bell as an agnostic podcast host and Brody as a rabbi who unexpectedly meet at a party. The show is produced by 20th Television in association with Steven Levitan Productions (Modern family, Restart).
