The ABC daytime panel show The view is taking the world by storm with its upcoming 28th season, which debuts next Tuesday, September 3.
The show, hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro, will be leaving its longtime home on the Upper West Side for a new studio at Disney’s new (and nearly completed) headquarters in New York City’s Hudson Square neighborhood. And, fittingly, given the upcoming U.S. presidential election, there will be plenty of high-profile political figures represented in its first few weeks back on TV, along with other celebrity guests.
Guests in the first two weeks include Rep. Nancy Pelosi, Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, and Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, as well as athletes Katie Ledecky and Venus Williams, actors Kathryn Hahn and Joe Locke, and Lauren Sanchez, who is publishing a new book. The Fly That Flew Into Space.
The show is also making a significant change to its Behind the table podcast, hosted by The view executive producer Brian Teta (this will be his tenth season at the helm). In addition to being available on all podcast platforms, ABC says that for the first time the podcast series will also be available on YouTube. Behind the table sees Teta and the cast react to the show and discuss their lives in a more informal setting.

The show really thrives during election season, and with us moving into our new downtown studio for Season 28 just two months before Election Day, I think the best is yet to come.”
The view is coming off a strong season, with a three-year record in total viewers, and marking its fourth consecutive year as the most-watched daytime talk show. ABC says it is watched in more households than any other talk show in America, including late-night talk.
The new studio at 7 Hudson will open as Disney prepares to relocate its New York workforce from its historic headquarters on West 66th Street on the Upper West Side to its new downtown headquarters, with plans to sell off its real estate on the Upstate side of the city.
Construction of the new headquarters was completed earlier this month, with The view destined to be one of the flagship programs starting from the new campus.
