Ritz-Carlton launches late checkout collaboration modeled by Josh Hutcherson

The name is Hutcherson, Josh Hutcherson.

The veteran actor has sought a new role as a fashion model by booking a campaign for an exclusive (and one-of-a-kind) new collaboration between The Ritz-Carlton and Late Checkout, Madrid's buzzy menswear brand. The inaugural capsule collection has a name — Late Checkout: A Ritz-Carlton Story — and arrives with nine curated pieces designed to “redefine everyday luxury” through elevated wardrobe essentials that mimic Late Checkout's vibe of irreverence and lively sophistication . The fact that Late Checkout's ethos is rooted in travel and hotel culture makes the partnership with the luxury hotel chain that much more appropriate.

Speaking of fit, Late Checkout: A Ritz-Carlton Story boasts luxe materials, classic cuts and menswear staples, many of which feature the iconic lion and Ritz-Carlton crest. There's a light blue V-neck sweater with navy and yellow trim on the collar, cuffs and hem ($380). Hutcherson sports a cobalt satin zip-up jacket with chest and back embroidery and contrasting navy collar, cuffs and hem ($680). A cream-colored work jacket aims to offer a sophisticated take on the classic workwear trend with front and side pockets and the lion and Ritz-Carlton crest on the chest ($465). There's a sleek white/cream 100% cotton rugby polo that features Ritz-Carlton branding in navy across the chest ($420). For a more casual vibe, the collection features white logo and flag T-shirts ($90), a blue logo hat ($85), and a navy logo crewneck sweatshirt ($240) and matching sweatshirts ($175).

To give the collection a proper cinematic debut, Ritz-Carlton and Late Checkout hired director Rogelio to shoot a campaign film produced by Little Spain. All of the above elements made it much easier for Hutcherson to slip through the wires and get in front of the cameras. “I thought it would be a nice combination of a slightly innovative boutique brand like Late Checkout and the iconic atmosphere of the Ritz Carlton,” says Hutcherson The Hollywood journalist. “I am very good friends with the Little Spain team, who I have known for years, and we are constantly trying to find projects to work on together. It was a perfect solution.”

Hutcherson — an actor best known for working in projects such as The Hunger Games franchisingFive Nights at Freddy's, The Beekeeper, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, The Children Are Alright AND The future man – he knew the brand because most of his friends in Madrid sported its products. “It's a really cool, chic streetwear vibe,” he says, adding that he liked the embroidered zip-up satin jacket he wears in the film.

“The launch of The Ritz-Carlton capsule collection with Late Checkout is an exciting intersection of our brand's dedication to service and innovation with a label that challenges classicism in fashion,” says Jamie Kerr, vice president and leader of The Ritz-Carlton global brand. “The juxtaposition of our timeless elegance with Late Checkout's modern and playful aesthetic creates a unique synergy.”

Anton Alvarez and Alex Turrion teamed up to launch Late Checkout in 2019, and since then the brand, which “documents a life of travel, hotels, long workdays, and even longer parties,” has earned praise for carving out a niche and having presented collections in the form of characters: from employees to guests. The Ritz-Carlton collaboration marks a first for the brand, something that made “perfect sense,” Turrion says.

“During our first few years, we focused on solidifying our narrative and ensuring everyone understood what we wanted to communicate with our collections and campaigns,” adds the creative director. “As a brand whose entire aesthetic revolves around hotels, partnering with The Ritz-Carlton and being able to add our unique vision and narrative is a dream come true and a full circle moment for us. Throughout the campaign video, the idea of ”leaving better than you arrived” is shared, which is something we both share. We just want your day to be a little better by wearing our clothes.”
