Joe Rogan has endorsed Donald Trump for president.
The powerful podcaster tweeted his approval Monday night, after posting the full clip from the latest episode of The Joe Rogan Experiencewhich features a conversation with billionaire oligarch Elon Musk.
“The great and powerful @elonmusk. If it wasn't for him we would be screwed. He makes what I think is the most compelling case for Trump you'll hear, and I agree with him every step of the way,” Rogan tweeted on X. “For the record, yes, this is an endorsement of Trump. Enjoy the podcast.”
Also Monday night, Musk, in a post on X, canceled a pro-Trump town hall Q&A and directed his followers to his conversation with Rogan.
Rogan had previously been a vocal supporter of the third party candidate, and for a long time JRE host, Robert F. Kennedy Jr, even though he never officially endorsed him as president. On August 8 he said that Kennedy was “the only one who makes sense to me”. The following day, Trump attacked Rogan on Truth Social, writing: “It will be interesting to see how loudly Joe Rogan gets booed the next time he steps into the UFC ring??? MAGA2024.”
On August 23, Kennedy withdrew and endorsed Trump.
There was speculation that Rogan would endorse Kamala Harris, and the podcaster worked hard to get both candidates featured JREwith both campaigns open to the idea as they pushed a strategy to appear on more podcasts rather than solely engaging in traditional sit-down interviews with newspapers and television networks.
On October 26, Trump appeared on the JREand had a long, rambling three-hour conversation with Rogan. Harris did not appear on JREalthough Rogan said efforts have been made. Last week he released a rare statement about behind-the-scenes negotiations for a podcast guest, posting a comment about why Harris didn't appear on his show.
Rogan says Harris' team wanted Rogan to fly to New York to interview the presidential candidate and that their interview would be limited to an hour.
“For the record, the Harris campaign hasn't given up on the podcast,” Rogan said in a comment on X. “They offered a date for Tuesday, but I was supposed to go to her and they only wanted to do an hour.” . I firmly believe that the best way to do this is in the Austin studio. My sincere desire is to simply have a nice conversation and get to know her as a human being. I really hope we can make it happen.”
