Roberto Orci, screenwriter of several The History of Star Trek AND Transformers movies as well as Five-0 Hawaiihe was accused of beating and sexually assaulting his wife, actress Adele Heather Taylor.
In a countersuit filed Monday, Taylor claims she was the “target of [Orci’s] violent conduct” on multiple occasions dating back to March 2018. She accuses Orci of “violent behavior” that included sexual assault, beatings until she was bruised, and insults.
In a May 2022 case, Taylor claims Orci chased her into their Los Angeles home before pinning her to the ground and threatening to rape her. The following month, he allegedly assaulted her a second time, telling her, “You like being raped.”
Taylor also claims in the complaint that she was arrested for domestic violence in April 2020 after Orci called law enforcement when she tried to fight him off after he assaulted her. Orci later let her out on bail and admitted on tape that the arrest was “intended to destroy Adele's credibility and dissuade her from reporting his ongoing abuse to authorities,” the lawsuit states.
In December 2022, Taylor left Orci after being assaulted again, according to the lawsuit. During the incident, she recorded some of Orci’s threats as he allegedly tried to push her out the front door of their home. “I want you to come out right now or I’m going to throw you out the f—ing door,” he said in the recording, according to the lawsuit. “I’m going to punch you right now just to get you compliant enough to get you thrown out the front door.”
After that latest incident, Orci filed a restraining order against Taylor “before she had ample opportunity to seek protection from the court,” the complaint states.
Orci's attorney, Daniel Paluch, disputed the allegations in an email to DAY: “My client denies the charges and looks forward to taking the case to court, in the proper forum.”
In her lawsuit, Taylor says she wants to hold Orci accountable for his years of abuse and for violating his “contractual obligation to share his assets with her and support her financially for the rest of her life.”
Her countersuit comes after Orci filed a lawsuit in June accusing Taylor of beating him “repeatedly and brutally” over several years. In the lawsuit, Orci detailed multiple instances of alleged abuse, including Taylor shooting him with a taser, pepper-spraying him, strangling him and throwing glass at him, among other allegations. He also accused Taylor of manipulating him into giving her property, money and control of his finances.
In the complaint, Orci acknowledged his problems with alcohol and addiction, saying he had undergone treatment and rehabilitation on several occasions.
Taylor's attorney did not release any further comments following the request for DAY.
