Stars in the Chamber event on election day

Lin-Manuel Miranda, Martin Short, Rosie Perez, Wayne Brady and more celebrities will join forces with hosts Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley Jackson for the second annual “Stars in the House” Election Day Vote-A-Thon on Tuesday, November 5 . .

The live event will take place from noon to 6pm ET, feature musical performances and support the Entertainment Community Fund.

“We were so moved by the reactions to our Vote-A-Thon in 2020 that we wanted to continue the tradition and provide a place where people can go to get away from the stress of Election Day but still stay informed, and most importantly – have fun! ” the hosts said in a joint statement. “Our live event is the perfect way to pass the time while you're standing in line at the polls or waiting for the results. We are so grateful to those in the community who will join us to share their experiences of voting and singing and/or dancing up a storm!”

Other participants include Jessie Mueller, Shoshana Bean, Judy Kuhn, J. Harrison Ghee, Anika Larsen, Emily Skinner, Andrea Martin, Will Swenson, Brad Oscar, Javier Muñoz, Peri Gilpin, Merle Dandridge, stars of the original Broadway cast of Hairspray and cast members of Cheerfulnessamong others.

“People in the performing arts and entertainment industry are still struggling to get back on their feet after the last few years of pandemic and work disruptions,” said Joe Benincasa, the organization's president and CEO. “The Entertainment Community Fund is here to help those in need, and we, in turn, continue to rely on the generosity of others to sustain that support. Seth and James have maintained a focus on how the Fund helps others since the launch of “Stars in the House” in March 2020, and their bright and funny efforts are deeply, profoundly and sincerely appreciated.”

During the event, Broadway Votes will keep hosts and viewers updated with election reminders and facts throughout the day, according to a press release. Joy to the Polls will also help Rudetsky and Jackson highlight pop-up musical performances that will take place at polling places in North Carolina, Arizona and Pennsylvania.

George Clooney, Jean Smart, Lisa Kudrow, Norman Lear, Ben Stiller, Kerry Washington, Chandra Wilson, Annette Bening, Leslie Uggams, Audra McDonald and Billy Porter are among the stars who have appeared on the show since its launch in March 2020. Also several casts from TV shows and movies reunited for “Stars in the House,” including Night at the Museum, Scandal, Grey's Anatomy, The West Wing, Melrose Place, 30 Rock AND White collar.
