Usher wrapped up his sold-out four-night show at the new Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, treating the crowd to his biggest hits and bringing out music legend Stevie Wonder.
While the audience spent most of the night on their feet as Usher wowed with his catalog of hits and guest stars that included comedian Kevin Hart, DJ Lil Jon, and rappers Juicy J and Tommy Richman, the biggest ovation of the night came when he brought Wonder on stage to pay tribute to him.
But Wonder took the opportunity to return the favor and celebrate Usher: “I’m here to celebrate you and that’s why I’m here tonight,” he said, noting that Usher’s recent hit “Good Good” was among his favorites.
Usher took a knee next to his idol as the singer and activist also took the opportunity to urge people to get out and vote, stressing that his upcoming tour and new single were designed to promote healing and unity.
“You hold the key,” Wonder told the crowd. “My vision has always been to see this be a united people of these United States.”
Usher then joined Wonder and sang “Ribbon in the Sky” along with the entire audience; he also sang “Overjoyed”, which aptly described the crowd's reaction to Wonder's presence.
Wonder wasn't the only one Usher paid homage to. Earlier in the set, Usher also mentioned Bobby Brown in the audience, noting that he passed on Brown's first album, then played snippets of hits including “Tenderoni” that the audience sang along with a beaming Brown in the audience.
The show, which lasted more than two hours, also featured a comical moment when Hart walked out as the band began playing “Nice and Slow,” removing his tank top before the sultry hit began to play.
“Girls, I have time tonight!” Hart told the crowd, before Usher kicked the comedian off stage. “What the fuck are you doing?” Usher asked, as the crowd erupted in laughter.
