Streaming rankings from 2 to 8 September 2024

The perfect couple it jumped to first place overall in the Nielsen streaming charts for its first week.

The limited crime series, starring Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber and Dakota Fanning, amassed 1.91 billion minutes of viewing time in the week of September 2-8 (it premiered September 5). That's the fifth-highest total for any original series premiere week on the streaming charts this year, behind Fool me once (3.04 billion minutes), Fall (2.9 billion), Bridgerton (2.76 billion) and Netflix's live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender (2.56 billion).

The perfect couple it was one of five titles to log more than one billion minutes of viewing time during the week. The others are Netflix films Rebel crest (1.11 billion), Family Guy (1.06 billion), Evasion (1.05 billion) – which had been No. 1 overall for the previous four weeks – and The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (1.02 billion), which was tied with the season 2 premiere a week earlier.

Further down the original series chart, two other shows also made the top 10 for their first few weeks. The Hulu one The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives (409 million minutes) became the streamer's first unscripted show to make the chart. The Peacock is studded with stars Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist it garnered 346 million minutes after debuting on September 5. Netflix's survival competition Survive (372 million minutes) returned to the charts with the start of its second season.

Nielsen's streaming ratings only cover viewing on televisions and do not include minutes watched on computers or mobile devices. The ratings only measure U.S. audiences, not those in other countries. Below are the top titles streaming from September 2-8, 2024.
