It looks like fans might get a Ted Lasso after all the fourth season.
Warner Bros. Television has acquired options on three cast members from the original three-season series, who had contracts with the U.K. actors' union Equity. Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein and Jeremy Swift have been approached to reprise their roles as Rebecca Walton, Roy Kent and Leslie Higgins, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed.
That puts the Emmy-winning football comedy series on track for a fourth season. Once those options are secured, the studio will need to work out new deals for the hit series’ other principals, represented by SAG-AFTRA. Those include co-creators/executive producers and stars Jason Sudeikis and Brendan Hunt, as well as Juno Temple.
Representatives for WBTV declined to comment. DAY also contacted Apple TV+.
More to come.
