That 90s show will not have a third season.
That's according to one of the show's stars, Kurtwood Smith, who posted the news on Instagram Thursday night.
“I know you've been asking when season 3 is coming, but I have some tough news… Netflix will not be renewing,” she began her post. “I just want to take a minute to say THANK YOU to all the fans around the world who have supported and watched the show. You came to me in random parts of the world while I was traveling and reached out to me through social media and you were just wonderful.
Smith played Red Forman on the show, reprising his role from the original series, That 70's show, alongside Debra Jo Rupp, who played his wife Kitty in both series.
“I loved every minute of bringing Grandpa Red to life for all of you,” Smith continued. “I've said it before, but it's worth mentioning again…this show had so much heart behind it and the most wonderful cast, writers, directors, producers and crew any actor could hope to work with . Thank you for allowing Red and Kitty, their nephew, all of their nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors, the original cast members of That 70's Show, and all of our wonderful guest cast members to entertain you for two seasons.
The '90s series is set 15 years after the premiere, with Eric (original star Topher Grace) and Donna's (original star Laura Prepon) daughter (Callie Haverda) visiting her grandparents (the Formans) during a 'summer.
Other original guest stars who appeared in the '90s edition included Wilmer Valderrama, Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher. The cast also included Ashley Aufderheide, Mace Coronel, Maxwell Acee Donovan, Reyn Doi and Sam Morelos.
In his post, Smith indicated that he believes the show isn't entirely dead yet.
“To steal Red Forman's words… we won't be idiots… we will buy the show, because good grandparents would do their best to get these kids to graduate from high school,” he concluded his post.
The Hollywood journalist has reached out to Netflix for comment.
