With flight delays and cancellations on the rise, the golden age of air travel will likely never return to the gate. (The cocktail lounges! The designer uniforms! The legroom!) Timex’s collaboration with Pan Am is a way for watch collectors and history buffs to step back in time, and after selling out last year, the Hollywood-favorite duo has launched a new collection for fall.
Priced from $289 to $299, the latest Timex x Pan Am collection features two new silhouettes in recycled stainless steel cases and contrast-stitched leather straps: the 43mm Fly Back Chronograph and the 39mm Waterbury GMT silhouette. The chronograph movement features “fan-shaped level subdials at the 4 and 10 o’clock positions with retrograde hands,” and the top subdial can track a second time zone when not in use as a tachometer.
The GMT watch features a quartz movement that also tracks a second time zone and is accented with Arabic numerals and a date window on a navy blue dial.

Pan Am-inspired design touches include the airline’s iconic globe logo on the decorative plates, crown, strap hardware and caseback, while the metallic blue dial and luminescent hands nod to the late airline’s colors. The watches are water resistant to 100 meters and come in a colorful, collectible gift set with a vintage-inspired lapel pin.
Founded in 1927, Pan Am billed itself as “the world's most experienced airline” and epitomized the luxurious Jet Age. It filed for bankruptcy in 1991 and has appeared on the big and small screen, including the retro ABC series Pan Amtwo Indiana Jones movies, lots of them 007 films and others. And let's not forget that Leonardo DiCaprio played the con man and fake Pan Am pilot Frank Abagnal Jr. in Catch me if you can.
Timex launched its second collection with Pan Am last year and sold out during both restocks. Shop the new Timex x Pan Am collaboration online here and check out the two new watches below.
