As a working parent, I never felt truly valued until I had a binge. Working mothersKatherine Reitman’s mommedy, which, in her own words, “shines a flashlight into the darkest corners of motherhood.” The Canadian series’ depictions of stressful days and sleepless nights struck a chord with this chronically under-rested person (I’ll save my sleep woes for another day), and as a result, I’ve tried just about every beauty product under the sun that promises to erase the dark circles under my sleep-deprived eyes.

The TL;DR of all this is that Tula’s Glow & Get It Eye Balms have been my skincare saviors, even on my most rested days. The hydrating eye treatments, specifically the rose option, have become essentials in this shopping editor’s travel and on-the-go makeup kits. (She even made the trip to Paris during a recent family summer vacation.) Even better: They’re always on sale for 5 percent off at Target, which offers this perk to members of its free Circle loyalty program.
TULA Skin Care Rose Glow Eye Balm
Getting better quality sleep is always the goal, of course. But I’ve found other semi-permanent solutions to fake the wide-awake look: a light touch of injectables and a great concealer (Rihanna’s $30 Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch is my current favorite). I also use Tula’s Rose Glow + Get It Cooling Eye Balm to soothe under-eye puffiness and ease that tired feeling in my afternoon slump.
I have combination to dehydrated (not dry) skin that tends to get a little oily in the heat, and while the hydrating and brightening benefits of this balm are great, it's the instant cooling effect that makes this product my go-to, especially in the summer. Thanks to the ingredient, menthyl lactate (which doesn't contain menthol or alcohol), just a few swipes are all it takes for me to feel instantly refreshed when my dark circles are puffy, tired, or dry.
I find myself reaching for Tula Balm when I'm feeling down around 2pm (and also when I'm craving a double shot) and it feels like a mini energy drink that makes my eyes feel just bright and healthy.

Hyaluronic acid provides much-needed hydration, and the balm also contains caffeine, aloe water, apple, and watermelon, which the brand claims help firm and tone skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles (no cold drink in the late afternoon can do that). It's also formulated with blueberries to help protect delicate skin, and probiotics to help promote smoothness.
I love the travel-friendly 0.3-ounce size and the fact that the formula applies easily over foundation and concealer without feeling cakey. More importantly for my sensitive skin, the balm (like the rest of Tula’s vegan and cruelty-free products) is formulated without fragrances, parabens, sulfates, phthalates, dimethicone, mineral oil and petrolatum, triclosan, formaldehyde, and the formaldehyde-releasing preservative oxybenzone. (The dermatologist-tested brand uses none of the 1,600 ingredients banned by the European Union, and Tula is on Sephora and Ulta’s clean beauty lists.)

Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson East also teamed up with Tula for the brand’s first celebrity partnership in 2020.
The brand was founded by Dr. Roshini Raj, a board-certified gastroenterologist who has been studying the effects of probiotics on the microbiome for over two decades. As a result, probiotic extracts and superfoods are the foundation of Tula, which boasts clinically effective formulas that help nourish, soothe and balance skin, calm irritation and improve hydration.
