Vegas according to Laura Voros of Highland Film Group

Your hidden restaurant or bar in Las Vegas?

Every time I go to Las Vegas, I make sure to reserve a table at my absolute favorite place: Bouchon on the 10th floor of the Venezia Tower at The Venetian. It's Thomas Keller's exquisite French bistro concept that he imported to Las Vegas from Napa. I always go back to Bouchon because I feel like I'm out of the hustle and bustle of the Strip and the food is delicious. My favorite dishes are the moules au safran (saffron mussels in white wine sauce with French fries), the croque madame and the crab benedict.

In Las Vegas you have to….

In Las Vegas you have to dive into the many casinos and fun atmosphere, watch an unforgettable show and take a walk along the Strip, especially if you are visiting for the first time

In Las Vegas you should never…

Rule number 1: never bet more than you are willing to lose. If you reach your loss limit, leave and come back another day!

What is the most accurate stereotype of Las Vegas and what is the most inaccurate?

The most accurate stereotype of Las Vegas is: “What happens in Las Vegas, stays in Las Vegas.”

The most inaccurate stereotype is that Las Vegas is just casinos and nightclubs. It's much more! Red Rock Canyon is nearby and I had one of my best hikes there.

What movie or TV show has (an aspect of) Las Vegas, right?

Martin Scorsese's epic crime film Casino it definitely captures the authentic side of Las Vegas and does it well. And on some level, it does too The Hangover – it's a fun, raunchy and wild adventure, although luckily I've never experienced it! The comedy was filmed at Caesars Palace, which is apparently pager-friendly.

The best place to experience the real Las Vegas?

The best place to experience the True Vegas is Fremont Street, also known as “Old Vegas”. You have to check out the historic casinos including The Golden Nugget and the neon lights. The famous stretch of road was a hip hangout for the Rat Pack, mobsters, showgirls and more! Freemont Street is now open to pedestrian traffic only and features some great attractions including the Neon Museum and the Mob Museum.
