Watch the video for Will.i.am Kamala Harris' support song “Yes She Can”

Will.i.am on Sunday released a song and music video in support of Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee.

The Black Eyes Peas singer released the song, dubbed “Yes She Can,” two days before the election, in which Harris takes on Republican nominee Donald Trump.

The song's lyrics include: “Mom, what's wrong with America? Why can't we get along in America? Something is happening in America. People entertained by the predator.

He goes on to sing that America used to be united but is now “just divided” as footage of the January 6 Capitol riot is shown.

“We are all immigrants with different characters but together, you know, we could break down barriers, so register and vote for your life,” the text continues. “Do it for your daughters, your sons and your wife. If you are a woman, vote for your rights and don't let them take your rights away. We could be better than we've ever been. We are about to have a female president.”

The chorus repeats “yes, he can,” while the video also shows scenes of people voting at the polls, a shot of the Statue of Liberty, and a girl holding an American flag waving in the breeze. Another image shows people protesting outside the Capitol with signs that read “No moving away from our bodies.”

Will.i.am posted the video on YouTube and social media. On Instagram, she included the caption that read, in part, “This is a heartfelt anthem celebrating Kamala Harris and the power of every people… With Election Day right around the corner, I wanted to mark the movement and create a call to action”. , and a promise of what we can achieve together… Join me as we shine a spotlight not only on Kamala Harris' journey and the change that is coming, but also on the everyday heroes and #PowerfulWoman who bring the world. 🙌🏾 This is a celebration of resilience, hope and the unstoppable spirit…”

She added that the song and video were intended to celebrate mothers, single mothers, stepmothers, sisters, aunts, nieces, wives, best friends, “fearless warriors, queens, princesses, presidents, CEOs.” [sic]doctors, nurses, programmers, scientists, astronauts, researchers, preachers, healthcare workers, legislators [sic]educators, teachers, tutors, professors, entrepreneurs, leaders and the door to LIFE that are women.

The song could be considered a sequel of sorts to will.i.am's 2008 song (and video) “Yes We Can,” which helped rally voters for Barack Obama.
