Zach Bryan Apologizes For Taylor Swift's Comments About Kanye West

Zach Bryan has some regrets.

After declaring on Tuesday that he prefers Kanye “Ye” West to Taylor Swift on X (formerly Twitter), the musician deactivated his account on the platform and shared a lengthy apology on his Instagram Stories, featuring songs by the global superstar.

“For the record guys, I didn’t come for Taylor the other night,” he began his first of four posts on the platform. “I was drunk comparing albums and it came out wrong. I know there’s a lot that tarnishes Ye and I was speaking purely musically. I love Taylor’s music and I pray you know I’m human and often tweet stupid things. I hope one day I can explain this to her. Twitter gets me in too much trouble and I think it’s best for me to stay away from it. I’m sorry to all the Taylor fans I’ve pissed off or disappointed. I love you guys and I’m doing my best!”

In his second post, the singer-songwriter said he was going through “a rough patch” in his life and was “projecting a little.” “To be completely honest, it just seemed rude and insensitive to Taylor,” he added. “I respect her so much as a musician that the last thing I want is for people to think I don't appreciate and love what she's done as a musician. Okay, that's it! I love you guys and I hope you understand.”

However, that wasn't the last. Bryan later shared that he wasn't trying to save face, “but Taylor's been a force of nature the whole time we've been growing up and I look up to that.” He noted that he would go listen to her song “Castles Crumbling” and that he never wants people to think he has any malice or ill will toward anyone, especially not Swift.

She concluded her post by writing that this year of her life has been very challenging in personal ways that no one knows about and that she has been trying to cope and balance too many things at once.

“So I'm going to take a break from tweeting stupid things, finish my tour, and somehow focus in the midst of all this,” he said. “I feel very, very blessed every day. Not taking it for granted and holding on to it has been so important to me. Okay, I needed to get this off my chest, you guys are the best, and I'll see you at Bourbon and Beyond,” an upcoming festival.

Bryan and Swift both have songs in the top 10 of this week's Billboard album chart, as The Department of Tortured Poets is at No. 5, while Bryan The great American bar scene is two spots lower, at No. 7. West's latest album, Vultures 2It's completely off the Billboard 200 chart.
