Zachary Levi endorsed Donald Trump for president on Saturday. THE Shazam the actor had previously declared support for RFK Jr.
“I'm not going to take up too much of your time, but I just wanted to give you a little context as to why Shazam is sitting here talking to you about these various things,” he said on stage at a Trump rally in Michigan. “I grew up in a conservative Christian family, which was pretty much the same street we were on. My parents were Kennedy Democrats who turned Reagan Republicans, and they taught me to have a healthy level of distrust of government and a healthy level of distrust of industry running amok.”
Levi supported RFK Jr.'s presidential bid all summer, writing at one point that the politician was “the best we've had in a long time.” Candidate Kennedy withdrew from the race late last month.
On Saturday, Levi spoke about his support for RFK. “For a long time I thought, 'Man, I really want to find a politician who represents all the things that I want and want to see in a presidential candidate.' And this year I found Bobby Kennedy and thought, 'Man, this guy is the real deal.' And in a perfect world, whatever it was, maybe I would have voted for Bobby,” Levi said. “But we don't live in a perfect world, we live in a very broken country, we live in a country that has been robbed by many people who want to take this place back from the brink. And we want to stop it, right?”
He continued: “We're here to make sure we take this country back, make it great again, make it healthy again. And so, I stand with Bobby, I stand with Tulsi, and I stand with everyone else who stands with President Trump. Because I believe that, of the two choices we have, and we only have two, Donald Trump, President Trump is the man who can get us there. And he will take us there because he will have the support, the support, the wisdom, the knowledge and the fight that exists in Robert Kennedy Jr. and former Representative Tulsi Gabbard.
In addition to the titular hero of Shazam! AND Shazam! The fury of the godsLevi also voiced Flynn Ryder in the 2010s Tangled and will appear in the next one Harold and the Purple Crayon.
